June Newsletter

SEEK family and friends,

We are excited for a month ahead that holds a lot worth celebrating! This June we have some fun Pride classes, a special Juneteenth class, a big yoga upgrade and more to share with you.

Everyone is welcome at SEEK, and we work hard to create an environment in our studio where you feel empowered, strengthened and accepted as you are year round. During Pride month we pay extra attention to celebrating our LGBTQ+ community inside and beyond our walls. Our Pride classes this month will feature LGBTQ artists, community donation opportunities, and a whole lot of fun on the mat or the bike.

We look forward to celebrating you AND celebrating with you this month!

YOGA PROGRAM UPGRADES

Five and a half years ago we opened SEEK in a one-room studio the size of our current locker room. We were "just" a yoga studio with big dreams back then. Growing into our goals of becoming a comprehensive functional training and movement studio is something we are really damn proud of these days. We love to see so many of you frequent our classes to train for your adventures, sports, and daily lives.

Nevertheless, every strong foundation needs maintenance in order to continue holding up what was built upon it, and we are excited to be making some upgrades to our yoga program this year! We are here to offer the very best functional yoga and movement in SLC, and we believe that in order to do that we need to progress and improve the yoga experience that we offer.

So, starting this month you are going to see some changes unfolding. Here's a glimpse of what's to come. We will be sharing more details on our website in the coming weeks. Please stay tuned!

CLASS NAMES + EXPERIENCE

Starting Monday June 6th you will see the names of our yoga classes change slightly. FLOW: steady will be listed as YOGA: Flow I, and our popular FLOW: strong will now be listed as YOGA: Flow II. You'll find Power to the Zen now listed as YOGA: Flow + Restore. Along with these name changes you can also expect a more refined yoga experience in each class so you know exactly what to expect, and are confident that every class you take will deliver what your body needs that day.

NEW CLASS FORMAT

Later in June and early July you will start to see a NEW yoga format appear on our schedule. YOGA: Activate. This format will include more targeted, function-specific classes such "Activate - Core" and "Activate - Mobility For Bikers". Activate classes will be different from our flow format in that they will not always include vinyasa style breath to movement. However, these classes will give us the opportunity to challenge you in new ways on your yoga mat.

NEW TIMES + LENGTHS

We know summer can be a challenging time to "fit in" a yoga class so we will be adapting our schedule to include more short-format classes (30-45 minutes) and new class times throughout the week.

WELCOME TO THE TEAM ANNA!

We are thrilled to welcome the newest member of the SEEK family, Anna Ratliff!

Anna was born in Kentucky and grew up in Utah. She has also lived in Alaska, Montana and Chile. In her spare time she loves to backcountry ski, run, hike and garden. She aims to run a marathon on every continent!

After graduating from The U, Anna has worked as a physical therapist for the past 3 years. We are excited to be bringing her on as a STRENGTH teacher and you will see her on the schedule starting today!

Join Anna on Wednesday's at 9 AM for a 60 minute STRENGTH class every week.

AND A WARM WELCOME BACK ZOE!

We are equally as excited to be welcoming Zoe Perkins back onto the instructor bike!

After enjoying a few months to be with her family and her newborn baby, Zoe is excited to be back at SEEK leading you through challenging and fun CYCLE classes.

You can catch Zoe every other Saturday for 9 AM CYCLE + Core.
