TRAIN FOR YOUR SEASON

Cross Training For Runners: April 19 - May 14, 2026

Improve Your Sport

TRAIN 2x WEEKLY FOR 4 WEEKS

SUNDAYS 3:00-4:00PM & THURSDAYS 6:30-7:15PM

This 4-week cross-training series is designed for runners looking to build strength, durability, and efficiency on the road or trail. Through a progressive combination of foundational strength training and dynamic loading, this program targets the key muscle groups and connective tissues that support strong, resilient running.

Each week, training will focus on developing lower body strength, core stability, and joint integrity, with an emphasis on the hips, ankles, and feet. Athletes will work through controlled resistance exercises alongside plyometric and tendon-loading drills to improve force production, running economy, and the ability to absorb impact. This approach not only enhances performance — helping you run farther and faster — but also plays a critical role in reducing injury risk and improving long-term durability.

This series is designed for runners of all levels, from those building a base to more experienced athletes looking to support higher mileage or performance goals. The principles of progressive overload and movement quality allow each participant to scale intensity appropriately, making the training both accessible and highly effective.

Programming is designed and led by Anna Ratliff, Physical Therapist, who specializes in working with runners. With over 20 years of running experience — including marathons, ultra-distance trail races, and Ironman triathlons — Anna brings a deep, research-backed understanding of how strength training supports muscle, tendon, and bone health. Her approach bridges clinical expertise with real-world application, helping runners stay consistent, perform better, and continue doing what they love for years to come.

The Details:

This series includes two 60-minute training sessions each week for four weeks. Plus, your registration gains you access to one additional strength, yoga, pilates or cycle class at Seek each week to supplement your training.

Each 60-minute session is designed to deliver a well-rounded, performance-focused training experience. Athletes will move through progressive strength training paired with runner-specific plyometric work, building power and resilience week over week. Sessions will also include single-leg stability and mobility work to improve balance, joint control, and movement efficiency, along with an extended core circuit to support posture and force transfer while running. The result is a thoughtful, progressive class that develops strength, coordination, and durability in a way that directly translates to better running.

IS THIS SERIES FOR YOU?

This series is designed for runners of all levels, from experienced athletes looking to improve performance to more casual runners building toward a stronger season. While the training is rooted in run-specific strength, stability, and plyometric work, the structured approach to progressive loading and movement quality translates well to other endurance sports. Hikers and anyone seeking a focused, performance-driven training program will benefit from the improvements in muscular strength, joint stability, and overall athletic resilience developed throughout the series.

All levels are welcome, including those looking to build a strong base. Exercises can be scaled and progressed based on individual experience and fitness, allowing each participant to train at the right intensity for their body. This individualized approach makes it possible to fully customize the training experience while continuing to build strength, confidence, and durability week over week.
