TUESDAYS 7:30-8:15AM + FRIDAYS 5:45-6:30PM

MARCH 4-28

This spring training series is designed for runners looking to become stronger and more resilient on the road or trail. Over the four weeks, your training will balance foundational weight lifting and more dynamic bone and tendon loading exercises to enhance your running performance and economy, while reducing injury risk. We will cover crucial core, hip and ankle strength exercises to let you run further, faster, and with less pain.

Training will be designed and led by by Anna Ratliff, a Physical Therapist who specializes in working with runners. Anna has been a runner for 20 years and understands the importance of strengthening in order to continue her participation in marathon and ultra distance trail races and Ironman triathlons. She is excited to share her research-backed knowledge about appropriate cross training to improve muscle, tendon, and bone health to reduce injury risk for those looking to up their running game or simply stay injury free and run for years to come.

THE EXPERIENCE

Both 45 minute classes each week will be floor-based strength work using weights, dumbells, bosu balls, trx, resistance bands, and bodyweight training. Each week will get progressively more challenging. Classes will also include some mobility and injury prevention practices to keep you running well all season.

Participation in the full series (no drop ins) is required. This training will be limited to 9 participants in order for Anna to provide individualized training for every participant.

BIKE TRAINING

THIS FOUR WEEK SERIES INCLUDES TWO 45 MINUTE TRAINING SESSIONS EACH WEEK:

MONDAYS 6:30-7:15AM + THURSDAYS 6:30-7:15AM

MARCH 17- APRIL 10

This training series is designed to build your strength, endurance, power, stability, and speed so you are ready to ride when the trails are dry. Over the four weeks you will use personalized power metrics, function-focused bike drills, and rider specific strength work to elevate your athleticism and make you a more capable rider. Each training session will push you harder than the last, and each week of training will introduce you to new training challenges and strength drills.

Mountain Bike training is designed and led by Cat Widner, an avid mountain biker and cycle teacher at SEEK. Cat has been teaching cycle for 7 years and brings her passion for riding to every class. With a specific focus on endurance and power training for cyclists, Cat’s classes directly translate to how your body performs on your bike.

THE EXPERIENCE

The Monday class will be endurance based training (held on the bike) to build baseline fitness. Over the four weeks it will get progressively more challenging in order to improve your endurance and get you ready to ride outside.

The Thursday class will be a combination of power and strength training (held partially on bikes and partially on the floor). Shorter high-output drills on the bikes will improve your technical performance outside. Floor-based strength exercises will cross train your body to build stability and strength that every rider needs.

Participation in the full series (no drop ins) is required. This training will be limited to 17 participants.
